Psychologist/Clinical Psychology Registrar
Days of work: Monday and Tuesday
Ellen graduated with first-class honours in Psychology and was a certified Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapist, prior to completing her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong.
Ellen’s earlier work with young neurodiverse children and their families formed the foundation of her approach to working with adolescents and adults as a Clinical Psychologist. The understanding of differences in the way people think, in say those who are Autistic or have ADHD, has influenced Ellen’s therapeutic approach. Each experience with her clients begins with an open mind and curiosity about the individuals’ unique world perspective. Ellen meets her client’s where they are at and walks with them, slowly, as they come to new understandings that help them to overcome their struggles and difficulties. Ellen is guided by a deep understanding of the attachment needs of individuals and the importance of healthy life balance and relationships. She is actively studying Schema Therapy as it speaks to the core needs of individuals and helps people to overcome life long patterns that cause pain and suffering. Ellen has a specific interest in perinatal mental health and working with adults that want to build healthy attachments with their children whilst maintaining a healthy mindset for themselves.
